Updates

Good afternoon my wonderful parents and students,

I am reaching out to give you a few updates. First and foremost, I want to thank you for being patient and being there for your students during these uneasy times. Please know that you have my full support with anything you might need. I can always be reached via email.

As of right now, the school is closed until at least April 15th. In the meantime, we will be transitioning to virtual learning, which is intended to begin on March 30th. This will be a new style of both teaching and learning for myself along with your student. I promise I will do my best to make this a positive experience.

If your student will need access to a laptop and/or internet during this time, please read the post below for laptop distribution instructions. Laptops will be given out tomorrow for those students in need.

Again, I want to thank you for supporting your students, and being patient with me as I continue to learn to teach virtually. Please check my website for future updates. If there is anything I can do to help you or your student, I am just an email away

- Mrs. Bushek

Laptop Distribution

Laptop Distribution

We will distribute computer devices for students in NEED beginning Friday, March 20th, between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM. If your child is in need of a device to participate in online learning: Please be advised of the following:
  • Parents/Guardians: Please have your ID, your student's school ID number, and single sign-on password, which is usually your (Student's Birthdate).
  • Per district protocol, laptops will be distributed to parents/guardians ONLY. If you are not the parent/guardian, please do not come to the school as we will not be allowed to issue you a laptop.
  • Students cannot come to retrieve laptops without parents/guardians, however, parents/guardians CAN pick up devices without the presence of their child (with aforementioned ID information).
  • Complete a property pass and forms prior to accepting a device. To expedite the computer device distribution process, you are encouraged to complete the required forms online.  You can access the form at https://www.browardschools.com/bcpspropertypass.
  • Band Instruments will be available for those students that need to retrieve them as well.

For families needing internet access, Comcast has expanded its Internet Essentials program, and is offering free internet services for eligible families for 60 days. Visit internetessentials.com to learn more.

Notes 16.3 Box Plots

There are five points on a box plot: The lowest value, lowest quartile, median, upper quartile, and highest value

Lower Quartile = median of the lower half of the data
Upper Quartile = median of the upper half of the data

The Inner Quartile Range = the Upper Quartile - the Lower Quartile
IQR = UQ - LQ

The Range = the highest value - the lowest value
Range = High - Low

Below is an example of a labeled box plot.

**Remember, if you have an odd amount of numbers in your data set you do NOT include the median in the lower or upper half of the data.
