Sixth Grade Math Syllabus
Mrs. Bushek


Course Description:
Welcome to sixth grade math! During the course of the year students will increase mathematical knowledge and understanding with a focus on problem solving and real world applications.  This course will build off of previous math concepts learned and introduce algebraic thinking.



Course Layout:
Warm Ups will be given at the beginning of class each day and recorded in the students’ notebook for a classwork grade. Students are expected to come to class prepared with their materials and ready to learn.
           
Homework will be given daily and is checked for work and effort (students must show work to receive credit).   Homework will come from a variety of sources including the student’s textbook, worksheets, and online through Khan Academy accessible at www.khanacademy.org. In addition to an in-class textbook, the students can find an online version of the book accessible through single sign on.



Required Materials:
Math folder, notebook paper, composition book, pencils, two dry erase markers, red pens.


Class Wish List:
Tissue boxes, Lysol wipes, dry erase markers, hand sanitizer, paper towels.

Tests: 40%
Quizzes: 30%
Classwork: 20%
Homework: 10%

*Extra Help will be given on Thursday mornings in my room 411 at 8:30. Students are encouraged to come prepared with questions.
